Egress Routes in District 13

Following the successful passing of the Egress Route for Westwood Hills, many folks have asked me, "Where is my egress route?" 

The egress report for Westwood Hills also recommended a complete a Region-wide Subdivision Egress Review Study to identify areas that are vulnerable to access/egress challenges, and based on its findings, establish a multi-year implementation strategy that prioritizes subdivisions for remediation.

At the time of this writing, The study is currently out to RFP, closing May 30, 2025. The final approach and timeline to the study will depend on the proposals that we receive – this is a unique project so it is difficult to say exactly how it will be carried out at this stage. It is my hope that we can complete this study in the next 6-8 months.  We should know a lot more within the next month after the procurement process wraps up.

I do want to express how much I understand and and appreciate how much vulnerable communities want egress for their subdivision. I am grateful for all the feedback I've received regarding specific communities, and please know do share those concerns with staff. When this report returns, I will be sure that the communities in District 13 are present, and their specific vulnerabilities are considered.
