    Capital Budget 2025

Before we begin, it’s important to call out that the 2025/2026 budget is called a ‘transitional budget’, as this year’s budget is the last year of a budget cycle that began 4 years ago and based on the strategies of the previous council. The priorities of this council will be shaped by our own strategy, and will be represented starting in the 2026/2027 budget season.

    Important documents to review are:

  • Social Media

Social Media As a Means of Communication

When new councillors like myself were onboarded to council, we received some amount of media training. As council members, there are no hard and fast rules for how to engage with social media, but there are a few principles to consider and I follow as a guide.

  • HRM Resident Survey Results - District 13

HRM Resident Survey Results - District 13

    HRM Resident Survey for 2024.

Because of the size of the survey, I have condensed the results below including values that are specifically related to District 13. The full survey results are here.

  • Community Council

Community Council - What is it?

While Regional Council considers matters for all of HRM, Community Council considers local matters, makes recommendations to Regional Council, and provides opportunities for public input. For District 13, we are part of North West Community Council.

  • committees

Standing Committees and Commissions - Which ones am I on, and why?

As a Councillor, I have commitments to both our district - District 13, as well as to Council. Part of my commitment to Council is serving on Standing Committees, advisory committees, boards and commissions, and that is a very good thing. While any Councillor can attend and speak at any meeting, only members of the committee can vote. To best serve my district, I selected positions where I can best contribute, as well as where the decisions made will serve the goals we want to achieve.
